Annual Appeal
Our Annual Appeal is our largest fundraiser of the year and our main correspondence requesting donations. Funds from these donations enable us to help patients and their families pay for hospice services, as well as carry on the traditions of grief support, counseling and continuing awareness to the community of hospice and its services.

Requests for help from the Foundation range from nursing services, paying for medications, medical equipment (including hospital beds) and oxygen. We even help patients and their families pay electric bills and buy groceries. All of these things allow patients to remain at home rather than having to be hospitalized at the time of their death.

Your tax-deductible donation enables us to continue our projects and may be dedicated in honor or memory of a loved one, friend or someone special.

As the holiday season approaches, our thoughts often turn to our loved ones, family and friends who are no longer here to share in our holiday celebrations. The Hospice Foundation of the South celebrates the memory of those people through the annual tradition of the Tree of Angels.

A tax-deductible gift of $5.00 purchases one ornament in memory of or in honor of a loved one. The ornaments are personalized "Angels" made of beautiful Battenburg lace and will be displayed in the Atrium of the Slidell Memorial Hospital. Your personalized "Angel" ornament is yours to keep and may be picked up at the Foundation office after the holidays. There is perhaps no lovelier way to honor the memory of someone special during the holiday season than through the helping of those in need.
